Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: my grand mother was born in Cuba :D

You are American by birth but your heritage is Haitien, be proud of both and be happy with who you are.

yes....
if ur mom was born in haiti that means ur haiti & american.
(not newyork cuz thats in the U.S
but when u gave a child he will be whatever ur wife is & newyorken

Your cultural heritage in Hatien, but you are American. :)

I don't know how old you are, but this is an issue you to have clarified for all legal reasons. You are an American of Haitian descent. If you were born here, you are one, but I don't think that fact means if your parents are in this country illegally they get to stay. You need to be talking to them!! Get the skinny on this issue and get it all clarified for your own peace of mind. Good luck my fellow American! (Descendent of Swedish and German families!)

I think you're haitien.when you were born in another country your mom & dads country is your country.

Unfortunately, American laws allow almost anyone who is born in the U.S., even in an airplane flying over the U.S., to claim American citizenship. So, most likely you are an American citizen of Haitian and Cuban heritage.
You did not state if your parents came here legally or illegally, and so forth.
So, the final answer may lie in the INS.
If your parents came here legally and they have green cards or were naturalized, then, no problem. Otherwise, it depends upon all the facts.

If you have a birth certificate and a social security card. You are an American citizen.

Don't forget every American expat the Native American Indians and Hawaiians where decedents of emigrants.

I came from a family on Irish, German, English, and Dutch emigrants. I also have Apache, Lakota, and Cherokee Indian ancestors.

You should do a family Genealogy search on your family. It's fun and very enlightening.
