I know to my great grandparents, maybe I'll do some looking into it.

About 1888

only 5 generations

5 generations .and i have it on a disc very interesting

late 16th century

grand-grand parents..... 3 generations....

I'm from Brazil, my mother's ancestrals are from Spain and my father's ancestrals are from Portugal!

4 generations ago,up to the parents of my grandparents

to about 15centurey

i can trace my line from my father back to the mayflower

I've traced my family tree back to 1650 so far x

back to the columbus days one of my(alot of greats)grandpas fell in love with a squa women & thats where i get my indian heritage!

That I actually KNOW for certain, well, it's one generation - ME. I know I exist (well, except when on the Philosophy forum) and my relationship to me is "self".

I have strong confidence in my family tree back 7 generations.

I have fair confidence in my family tree back 13 generations.

I have "hey that's pretty cool but who knows" confidence on one line back 32 generations.

What I'm trying to point out is that you should never believe that you KNOW. Keep researching, keep studying, learning. You find out new things, even on lines you thought were solidly established, all the time.

My Uncle blew his life savings on tracing the family tree,he managed to trace us as far back as Vlad The Impaler who we are direct descendants of.

To Charlemagne, but some of the links in the chain are questioanable.

Back 40,000 years to Africa through my DNA, like every other human alive today, but the exact names and dates have been blurred by the mists of time.

I have names that date back to 1547 on my husbands side, and 1648 on my fathers side.

I have researched and validated back to my G_G_G_G_Grandfather who was born in Barony, Lanark, Scotland in 1742. He was married to Janet Miller. They had 5 children.

At that point, I am up against a brick wall.

Most people say I am related to Adam and Eve.

1600s on one side, 1740s on another, and several late 1700s

one branch goes back to 1549 another 1914 all the rest are somewhere in the middle.

I have traced my mother's side of the family back to years before the American Revolution.

The one which interests me most, way back, is the marriage of Beniamin Burgoyne who married Gartherude Row at Crediton, Devon, on 14th January 1684.
It's the same family, but were they French immigrants, and if so, why did they come to England? I like to think that it was a romantic elopement!

My work 1735 but I have lines that go back further, but as it's not my work I would like to double check the research.

approximately 1500 no dates but father named in sons diary and son was born 1530 so by law of averages it must be about 1500. He was my 21x great grandfather

I have documented to about 1740. I've verified and documented to about 1785. This is exciting for me because I'm African American and many still believe that we can't get past the "brick wall" of slavery. But many of us have broken waay past that wall now.

some parts back to the 1500's. and other parts only in the late 1800's.

Only three generations. Would love to know more, but now both my parents are dead, it is difficult, as we were rather scattered. Maternal and paternal grand parents come from two continents and my parents settled in a third... I don't have enough information to go on.
