It's unlikely that you will get the information from anyone other than the parents of the child or the child's siblings. You could try emailing the superintendent at the cemeteries in Dartford, you could ask if the grave for the baby is in that cemetery, but I do know for certain you do need the exact date of death not just the year. I did some research for someone on Yahoo answers, and she was particularly interested in the 'index for the stillborn babies' she couldn't find one, well she wouldn't there are no registers available to the public in respect of stillborn babies. and when I told her this she gave me a long list of cemeteries where the baby might have been buried. I began phoning round by the fourth one I knew for certain I wouldn't find the babies grave.
Sorry I cant help on this one.

gravefinder.com

you cant look on google.com

you could try the local council

Look at the obituary pages of the local newspaper on microfilm at the library there.

You may be lucky, but within 10 yrs of my nan being buried here in UK they couldn't tell me where she was buried, hope you have better luck but?

all churches keep records. funeral directors usually bury to the nearest grave yard to the address of the person who diedbecause i think they have to have permission to cross a church boundry. you could look up the churches in the area of the deceased and search their records if you know the name and date of death ect

there are only four cemetriesin dartford try this site hop its helpful and try doing a search at the top http://www.dartford.gov.uk/cemeteries/

find out how many grave yards are in dartford. start from the nearest one from the hospital. and start looking at church records. trouble is thats all you can! do. the grave wont be marked will it. i wish you good luck.

Try N West Kent FHS - someone may have indexed the burials in Dartford.

Are you certain these people can't lead you to the records? Francis Chappell & Sons 020 83034777 217 Broadway BEXLEYHEATH, Kent, DA6 7EJ

The hospital may have arranged the burial, although they probably haven't kept the records, they should be able to tell you what arrangements they usually made. If you're certain it wasn't a cremation, then you may have no alternative than to check round all the possible burial grounds both church and local authority. Finally, there may be an index of burials either at the county records office, or the local family history society. Although, it might have been that the baby was early, that she may have been buried in the same coffin as someone else who was buried at around the same time. In this case I think you'd really need to contact the hospital.

You are a lovely person to try to help your friend in this way.

You could try the web site below or the is a set of CD Roms called the National Burials Index I got my set from S&N Geneology.com but I think they are generaly.

If that does not work then try to find the person in the Death Index's then use a map to locate grave yards,

Good look and good hunting.

My mum and dad have just found the location of their still born baby boy who was born in 1953. Its very sad that it has taken so long to trace him, however they didnt have any idea where to start and its only now with the power of the internet that they have suceeded. Phone your local council and ask for the cemetries dept, they will ask you for the date the baby was born and which hospital they were born in, and the names of the babies mother and father. Back in those days the babies were buried in the same grave as someone else, and although we are still trying to find out who he was buried with, at least we know the area of the cemetry he was buried in. Good luck in finding your friends daughter, it was such a relief to my parents knowing where there baby was after all these years. I hope your friend finds the same comfort.
