37 DIFFERENT PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME NAME AS ME!! Isn't that weird?

Question:I just found out that there are 37 DIFFERENT PEOPLE USING THE NAME OF TONIA RANDOLPH.
THAT WAS MY MAIDEN NAME. I AM NOW INTERESTED IN FINDING THESE PEOPLE AND SEEING HOW MANY OF THEM ARE RELATED TO ME!! SO IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO'S NAME IS TONIA RANDOLPH PLEASE HAVE THEM EMAIL ME.

lol... the genealogy lesson for the day...
in Colonial times, it was STANDARD to name children for other family members. One pattern (of many) was the first son is named for the paternal grandfather. So... John Smith has 5 sons, and all five of these name their first son John for grandpa, and at least one daughter for grandma Jane. Some of the kids get names from the wife's side of the family, which is of GREAT help in sorting them out.
You are lucky. Us genealogy nuts have no one to ask, so we have to sort through such things as wills and land records to attach the right John Smith to his father and mother. Many of us are now bald from pulling our hair out.

Actually not all that strange. Best I can tell doing a quick check is that there are about 80,000 Tonia's in the United States and another 80,000+ Randolphs.

If you really want to find these people, though it is probabilistically doubtful any will be related, you can do a "people search" or a white page search and see who you can find.

But first, ask your parents how they came up with the name Tonia. If it was family name, maybe some other Tonia Randolph was given that name because of association with the same family. But if they just picked it because they liked the name, or because of some non-family basis, then it is unlikely you are related to the other Tonia Randolph's.

Try to google the name or use myspace.com or facebook, if you have a rough idea where they are use www.whitepages.com to track them down.

Considering there is about 6,602,224,175 people on Earth, thats not too weird. Imagine how many Smiths and Jones' there is? No, Im not a 'Tonia Randolph' Sorry.
