1) Does your natural father know you exist please tread carefully because you refer to your mam knowing him, not living with or marrying him.
2) If he is named on your birth certificate then that goes some way to helping but if his name is not on their don't be too convinced the man named by your mum is your father. Depending on how old you are there are all sorts of reasons why someone would not give a fathers name etc or perhaps put a lad they knew without him being the actual dad.
3) Try 192.com , local electoral registers, local newspaper write a letter to it see if anyone knows his whereabouts.
4) Try Friends reunited I helped someone find their natural family a sister was on the site looking for her.
5) Rootsweb try browsing the mailing list for the county you know he was in.
6) A very loose try at working out his approx year of birth and looking for his birth certificate could be one way to start. How old was your mum when she had you, add 5 years either way to this and look for him on the birth indexes. The indexes are available online or at the moment at Myddleton Street in London.

There are many ways and I think you will in the end find him but you will have to be strict with your self in the way you do your search don't let yourself go off in assorted directions try and stick with one idea and follow it until you get stuck.

Has your mam any sisters or brother who could help you,,,,

firstly try the election roll ....... and if your mum knows where he came from ask ppl in that area if they know him .... hard question ..another thing you might consider is summin like the jeremy kyle show hes gr8 ... :)

If you know his name and possible area, you could try the web site www.192.com to see if he has a listed telephone number. The reasons people aren't listed - they only use mobiles, they are on cable, they are ex directory, someone else is paying the bill.
If you don't know the area, where it asks for location, type in United Kingdom.
You could try joining Friends Reunited
You could try writing a letter to the newspaper local to his area, address it to "The Readers Letters Column" and ask if anyone knows his current wherabouts. Google will give you the newspaper address.
You could try the people search site called missing-you.net/missing_uk

You have his name and place of work. Have you tried friendsreunited? you never know. Is the firm still going? that's a possible avenue.I'm not sure if social services can help you out, they may have advice and help, otherwise, what might probably be the most efficient option if not the cheapest is the General Register Office Traceline.http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/resear...

They will forward a letter to the person but not tell you where they are, just leave the person to get in touch if they wish.

um..you mean biological father.....you can look him up at yellowpages or whitepages (that's what my old classmate did) or, if you have family ask them!!!
