try looking up some agents, I am sure they would be happy to help. maybe ask around some of your family you have around you!

In the UK it is usual to go back to the Agency which handled the adoption. (Social Services, Dr. Barnardos, etc)
They are legally bound to keep the relevant papers; they can give you counselling and inform you how to obtain your original Birth Certificate.
I'm sure there is a similar procedure in the US
It is also possible, here, for the Birth Mother to register that she is willing to be found if her child is searching for her.
Have you talked to your adoptive parents about it? I believe open record adoptions started about the time you where born, they may have her information its been more and more common for adoptive parents to have this info. r.t med records.

You don't indicate if you have her name.
One of the hardest ideas in adoption is to try to find out if the birth parent is open to being contacted. Not all of them will be, and in all honesty, SOME lost custody of children for very valid reasons. Because of this, I strongly suggest that you take some time to network with other adoptees, who have experience with the different issues.
I have an adopted son, and since it was a private adoption, have always had the name, but made the promise to her that unless BOTH wanted contact, it would be kept confidential. So far, my son has not said that he wants to know her. For some adoptive parents, it is a hurtful thing, but not all.
Good luck.
Gosh, will do you have her name? First and last name. You could try contacting the hospital in Aroura IL. If they can't help you. then find out who holds the citys old medical records and births. try searching her name on www.zabasearch.com also. Depending on how much you can pay you can hire a detective to locate her also.
you are old enough to be allowed access to any documents. call the hospitals in Aurora and ask if they have records that far back. call the clerk of the court and ask about records. they might even have your original birth certificate. a word of warning...don't make up a fantasy about her.
These may help, especially if you are both looking for each other.
