Mount Morris in the mid 1800's

Question:buying a house in Mt Morris & I'm trying to find out any & all information on the area.

It was a whole lot cleaner and safer back then...no GM plants and the economy was a bit brighter. The Genesee County Historical Society is a great place to start, as well as the MiGenWeb site for Genesee Co. http://www.rootsweb.com/~migchs/

BTW, Jan Cortez, the Michigan GenWeb coordinator, is currently hosting the Genesee Co board until a new volunteer moderator can be found. If you're really interested in genealogy, you may ask her if you can adopt it. She's a very nice person, but doesn't live anywhere near the county and would to have someone local take it over.
