There are an awful lot of you in the UK - my computer has come up with in excess of 200 people called Toplis and the same number Topliss (I have the Electoral Roll "plumbed in")
Give me a clue as to which area of Wales and I can tell you how many cousins are around that part.
The 'puter can only count to 200, by the way, so I've no idea just how many over that number there are.
Do you know a Jason Dwain Topliss from Wrexham? He has a web site which may be of interest. Also the Nottinghamshire Family History Society makes a point of mentioning the name Topliss on their site.
The other thing which may (or may not!) interest you - the name Top is Old Norse, meaning forelock; maybe your original ancestors were bald!
I assume you mean surname. i knew someone who had the surname Toplis (not sure if it had 2 's)
haha never heard of it sorry thanks for the laugh though could be worse you could be called longbottom haha or ramsbotttom
