Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: My Grandma's family came from Hillsbach, Baden, Germany
and from Londorff, Hessen, Germany They came to America in 1732

My Great Grandma's Family came from Hinterzarten which I think is in Baden they were from part of the Holy Roman Empire and came to Pennsylvania between 1720-1740
and moved to the south and eventually settled in Hardeman Co, Tennessee. Rhineland Palatinate. My ancestors were from Prussia before that country became part of Germany in 1881. Ancestors: Bavaria http://www.mnsu.edu/emuseum/history/mnst...
Not sure of any of mine, since I am still working in US records.

You might find this of interest, though... Germany and Eastern Europe can be real tricky to research because the political boundaries frequently changed. Finding an exact location is almost critical, in order to find such things as church records regarding your ancestry.
Have fun! My husband was born in Munster West Germany, his parents now live in Cyprus, and we live in England, I was born here. Have some German ancestry.

One line came from Alsace about 1700

Another came from Prussia about 1850. Szczepanowo, Modliszewo and Gniezno, West Prussia Some of my mother's ancestors came from Swabia, others from Innsbruck (which is in the Austrian Tirol), I was born in G?ttingen, Lower Saxony, quite in the center of Germany. My mother was born in Berlin and my father on the peninsula Reichenau in Lake Constance. My mother's ancestors were mostly from the very North of Germany (mainly North Friesland), those of my father were mostly from the Rhineland and some from Prussia. Berlin, Danzig, Prussia My brother and I were both born in the Rineland area, not far from Düsseldorf. On a wider scale, my family comes in part from Franconia, partly from the Eifel region and partly from the Niederrhein area, which is very close to the Netherlands.
