I am trying to trace a birth in liverpool i know the hospital and the year,cant find a site to help for free.?

I have been on the hospital web site,but cant find anything relevant to year i am interested in.

You are looking for Vital Records. A birth record is kept by local towns first. You can usually type "Vital Record <town>" in a Yahoo Search and many sites will show. I did that for Liverpool, and the search URL below shows the places you can look.

You mentioned free, and that is the catch - you will only get free records if someone else has the record and wants to share. It costs money to keep records, and the record keepers will charge you. You might ask on GENFORUM for the specific family name, if anyone has a copy. I have not found that to be fruitfull.
