Question:

My maternal grandmother's father was killed in a railroad accident in Pennsylvania in the 1920's. His name

was Elmer Schweinsberg. Any information or how to find information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: According to his World War I Draft Registration card, Elmer was born on Nov 29, 1887 in Pennsylvania. His father, Earnest L Schweinsbert, was born in Germany in September 26, 1848 in Joddberen, Germany and his mom, Mary Ann Rosensteel, was born in Hempfield, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in January 10, 1852. He was one of 10 children, 7 of which were living at the time of the 1900 census. Amongst these children were a sister named Mary born August 1879, William born May 1884, sister Lulu born May 1884. His parents were born about 1872. At the time of the census, they lived in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

The children that I am aware of from an online tree are as follows:
Edward b. May 30, 1871
Harvey b. December 10, 1872
Henry Lewis b. December 22, 1874
Sarah Jane b. Oct 27, 1876
Mary Elizabeth b. Aug 15, 1879
Huldah Lucinda b. Nov 19, 1881
Clara Luella b. May 3, 1884
William Franklin b. May 3, 1884
Elmer Earnest Ellsworth b. Nov 27, 1887

Ernest Schweinsberg died in Hempfield, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania on September 24, 1922. Mary Rosensteel Schweinsberg died in Pittsburgh on September 1, 1929.

I hope this helps.
