Question:

Anyone in England, Scotland and/or Ireland care to help me trace my history/family?i'll be your penpal!?

i'll probably never make it to all three places, but i don't have a family here anymore and it would be fun and interesting to find some long lost someone. my maternal grandma was a Dr. Barnardos child and came to Canada from Kent in 1920's. my paternal grandpa emigrated from Scotland with his family when he was 4 from Ayr, Scotland in 1924 or so. And my mother's Da was born in Canada to a family that originated in County Cork in Ireland (I think), the Moynihans. I think they came in the 1880's, but some of my family used to think they came during the famine.
any help or interest would be greatly appreciated and we might have fun getting to know one another. any research you need from Canada, or that I can help with, I'd be happy and interested to oblige. good day, eh.

This lists just about every website to do with genealogy and family trees. Somewhere in the there should be passenger lists, Barnado's records and maybe even a family tree or two which share one of your family surnames.

A good tip is to create a website so that others searching for you can find you... if you're lucky they will have already researched great chunks of your family tree for you!

So far I've traced my family back to 1750 with a few unconnected records going back to the 1400s.

Good luck!
