Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: This is what I have been able to find.

Andrew Jurd is listed in the 1900 Healdsburg, Sonoma County, California census. He is listed with wife Rose, Daughter Nellie, and son Landis. His date of birth is given as June 1865 in Iowa, Rose is July 1868 also in Iowa. Daughter Nellie August 1890 in California, and son Landis July 1898 in California. Andrew was listed as a Painter by occupation.

From a tree online, I learned that Rose's full maiden name is Rose Arnie Adams born July 17, 1867 in Iowa. This true, because according to son Landis' death record, his mothers maiden names was Adams:

Father's Surname:

A quick search of the California Death index reveals that he died May 25, 1908 in Sonoma County. His death certificate number is 14341. My next step from here would be to order the death certificate and see what his cause of death was.

If you live a ways from the area you could try this website called Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness

http://www.raogk.org/californ4.htm...

They might ask a nominal fee for copying and mailing expenses. Usually, the volunteers on the site are very kind and generous with their time, so I would recommend giving the volunteer big thanks BEFORE and AFTER making your request. One more thing, don't ask the volunteer to do anything more than the thing that they have volunteered for.

Good luck in your search and I hope my answer has been of some help. Blessings
