DNA question?
I have had a DNA paternity test with my father.
Would any of the numbers on that test happen to represent
Native American Heritage?
Would I have to have a new test to find out or can I just take the test results I already have to a professional to be read.
Also, would they be able to know which Tribe we are associated with?
My father should be 1/8 and should be 1/16 if the family is correct.
My father's grandmother was embarrassed to be Native American and refused to discuss it and would not allow her children to discuss it either. So I have very little information.

When you get your results, ask them for the printed version so that you can take it to a native American scientific lab and ask them about the genetic markers.
I find that scientists are willing to help when they can
