Question:

Where would be a good place for me to start?

My dad died about 10 years ago and I got all his geneology research but I am so lost with it. Where is a good place to start and should I just start researching over and just use his work as notes. Thanks

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Start with yourself and fill in all the family information that you know and then talk to family members. It sounds like your dad had a good start, so I would take what he has and fill out your own chart, that gives you an idea on how it all goes together. Check out sights like Ancestry.com. They have been very helpful for me, there are also message boards with people looking up the same name. I added 5 generations on to what my great-grandfather had gathered, and had been passed down to my mother, that way.
