Question:

Does anyone know of any Brooklyn cemeterys?

Whats their names?my grandmas family is burried there and my grandpa was buried there this summer..Hanye is the name on their grave and the familys name is Snackenburg and Kirkof ( or something near that)

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The cemeteries in Brooklyn tend to be tied to the religion that person who was buried practiced. Sometimes the cemetery could be tied simply to location.

Greenwood Cemetery green-wood.com burial search came up with Hayne, Holy Cross Cemetery - Catholic on Tilden Avenue; Washington Cemetery - 5400 Bay Parkway.
Kings County Farms (I don't know where it was.) near Kings County Hospital, Trinity Cemetery, and Canarsie Cemetery.

Instead of looking what cemeteries are in Brooklyn, it may be better to order your grandparents Death Certificates. These will tell you where they were suppose to be buried. This can be done through the internet depending on what year they died. If they died after 1949 - http://www.health.state.ny.us/vital_reco...
If they died between 1898 and 1949 check
http://www.nyc.gov/html/records/html/vit...
If you are dealing with anyone who died earlier you may need to know which town in Kings County they were from. Brooklyn City is separate from New Lots, Flatbush, etc.
These can be found on microfilm either at Chamber Street or ordered through the Family History Libraries from the Later Day Saints familysearch.com., click Library, click Family History Library Catalog and search by New York City - Kings County.
Since Snackenburg and Kirkof sound slightly Germanic try Lutheran Cemetery in Queens. Or if Jewish check the list on the Brooklyn Cemetery Site I pasted below.

Also check obituaries in local papers.

Good luck.
