Position:Home>Genealogy> My Coat of Arms for the surname 'BALL' is "FALCRUM DIGNITATIS VIRTUS"

Question:

My Coat of Arms for the surname 'BALL' is "FALCRUM DIGNITATIS VIRTUS" can anyone tell me what this means.

Falcrum Dignitatis Virtus is shown above a Knights Helmet flanked by two lions standing on hind legs, a single Lion is also between the lions and under the helmet in what seems a shield of some sort. I did note someone else was asking this same question some time ago in another forum, when I responded to the question with "Thats my Family Crest Moto" nothing more was mentioned, however, I'd still like to know. Any other 'Ball' people out there? Pop in and say G'day. We are Ball, (Father Bernard)from Hereford UK, although I was born in Bath Somerset .

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: There appears to be a misspelling in the first word - it should be "fulcrum", not "falcrum".

From the Latin:
fulcrum = support (nominative case)
dignitas = dignity (nominative case), dignitatis = of dignity (genitive case)
virtus = virtue (nominative case)

Fulcrum dignitatis virtus
Virtue is the support of dignity
