Names: Where do they come up with meanings?

Like if your name is like Boston. Where do you get the name boston from? Or like the name Felicia? How do you find the maeanings for all of these names? Or where do they come from?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: some people choose names because they lived in the city, e.g boston, sometimes names are of some kind of family idea or enmotional attachment. my siuster is called elanor which is from my dads favourite book. i know someone who has 3 children named after the midwife! names can also be thought of, just made up, they could be from stars names or celebrities or anything really. try getting stuck with a bad nut like Flo, yup dats an annoying name....
