Position:Home>Genealogy> Cleft on her chin?

Question:

Cleft on her chin?

Helping my friend with finding her roots. Are clefts on the chin Enlgish or Irish?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You can't go by that. The English and Irish both share the same ancestral roots, sometimes referred to as Celtic although Celtic is actually a culture not a genetic group. The people of the British Isles share ancient roots with the Basque people of Spain. The English also have Norman and Anglo Saxon roots from later invaders which are not shared to the same degree by the Irish. However in the English countryside (village of Cheddar) scientists have found direct descendants of a 90,000 year old man who's remains were found nearby.
