Position:Home>Genealogy> Is there any public domain geneology data sets available?Question: Is there any public domain geneology data sets available?I am not looking for websites like ancestry.com, I am looking for the RAW data to use in a geneology application. Raw data means in plain text, or comma separated, mysql, or any other type of parseable data? Perhaps the government has some of these datasets? Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: all databases are listed at cindi's... including gov sites, military sites, passenger lists, etc. all of these database's were written to work a little different, so just dig a little to find which one you seek. if its on the web, its here: http://www.cyndislist.com/ ooops, forgot two important sites (with GREAT links of other databases). http://www.usigs.org/ http://www.ellisisland.org/ |
