Question:

At conception, what if a different sperm cell from my father would have fertilized my mother's egg cell?

Would I exist? or would a brother or sister exsist instead of me. Out of all those 300 million sperm cells, was it just the right "one" that made me "me"?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If a different sperm cell would have fertilized the egg then you would not be you. Think about fraternal twins where you have two seperate eggs and two different sperms. Many times fraternal twins are different as night and day. I had a friend once who was brown hair and brown eyes and clear skin and her twin sister was red hair and blue eyes and lots of freckles.

Genetics are a funny thing and one sperm is not like another, so be proud that you are you and that you are truly unique.
