Question:

Info on Hardy Sanitarium-Ardmore,Ok. 1928/ and or Anna Bell Brown age 17 at the time giving birth there?

Harold Hickman/ or Harold Vickman the father. Baby went to state orphanage-adopted by smith's in McAllister Ok. three months later. Searching for my real grandmother, grandfather, relatives..Have legal documents to show proof..

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The social security death index does have a Harold Vickman, born 1909, and died in 1990. His ss # was applied for in Wisconsin..and nothing there shows any link to Oklahoma. Which means nothing, since social security didn't begin until the 1930's. This might be him, or maybe not, need further research. For obvious reasons, his family may be unaware of the events in Oklahoma. There are other places that can be checked, discreetly.
If Anna was 17 in 1928, that means she was born in 1911, and should appear with her parents in the 1920 census. The Ardmore area would be the first place to check for that. DEPENDING on if she was the oldest child of her parents, or the youngest, it is possible she might have living siblings. I don't have access to 1920 census, but know some people who do. There are also places to look for marriage records, but that will take a bit of time. No way to find where/when she might have died, without a married name.
I do have a daughter in the Ardmore area, who may be able to check some records offline. (I am near Dallas). If you will please email me researchbug@sbcglobal.net I can continue to help. More is needed than just one reply.
