Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Contact the Wexford Co Clerk's office in Cadillac for a copy of her death certificate (or go in there an just ask for the info in person) and you'll find that her parents' names should be listed on there, as well as her place of birth. From there you can get her birth or baptismal records and look for her parents' marriage license. Their marriage license should list their parents' names and place of residence. From there it's just a matter of repeating the cycle for every generation.

I've only been up to that office once, but I believe they do have an area for genealogists to sit and scour the old birth, marriage and death books. Unlike most counties in the area, I don't think they have pre-set hours for genealogists to visit. If you are really lucky and very nice to the clerk, you may also get them to tell you the information over the phone. Many of the counties in Northern Michigan are happy to do it when they're slow.

If you can't make it to their office, you can also request the information in writing, but it costs for printing official copies.

The other option is to contact the Vital Records unit of the Michigan Dept of Community Health.

BTW, if you know the funeral home that handled the funeral, you can call them for a copy of her death certificate and her obituary. It won't be official, but it will be a true copy of the original.
