Position:Home>Genealogy> Communicating with relatives in different country...?Question: Communicating with relatives in different country...?Has anyone had any success in contacting and sharing information with relatives out of the country? I'm in the US and have tried contacting some of my husband's distant cousin's in Italy. Unfortunately, I'm afraid my message may have been distorted with the translation service I used (sent letter in both English and Italian). One relative took the letter to the local school English teacher, who emailed me and suggested contacting a specific cousin, which I did, but received no reply. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Hey Amber, So far, I have not called Italy or any other non-english speaking country. For Italy, you should have a conference call with suspected relatives, try hiring an Italian Language Teacher, for the call. You will need someone either there or at your location that can facilitate communication. Here are some great sources for digging up Italian ancestors, and finding current numbers. This also sounds like a great excuse to take a trip to Italy! |
