I am wondering if there was an register of School Master's in England in 1901? I have someone on the 1901 census who was a school master, and I was interested in what school he may have worked at. Thank you.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Have you taken time to browse through the area surrounding his home in the census? I have seen in census records where the enumerator wrote things in the border of the page such as "hotel" "orphanage" or such.
The other option is to look at historical resources for the area, since schools would possibly be mentioned. For instance, you can google "education Lincolnshire history" or something similiar.
