Does anyone know of a person with the surname of Twice? (ie: Joe Twice)?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: HSK's Mom has the best answer so far. I'd bet even money that family in SD is Native American and their last name is "Looks Twice", which could be how they translated "careful thinker" from the Sioux or Blackfoot into English.

has this family from the 1880 census. They were born in Germany, so they aren't Indians. They are long dead, too, which may not be fair by the terms of the bet.
