Position:Home>Genealogy> Native american on dawes roll?
Question:
Native american on dawes roll?
Hi,
I recently took a DNA test proving native american ancestors.
Not suprising since my mom and grandmother were from oklahoma.
From geneology they came from Tennessee and Mississippi
area.
I am looking for names on dawes that match
my ancestors.
Well I have searched the dawes for ancestors,
all I come up with this the names and no birth dates
or place of birth.
I see the same names as my great grandfather and
great great grandmother.
The problem is how do I know if these are the same names.
Does anyone have experience matching geneology records
and dawes roll names?
Thanks for any help!!

Try the U.S. Census records for Oklahoma, go back far enough to see if your great grandfather is listed. Go to www.census.gov/genealogy/www
I hope this helps.
