I'm researching the Clutter family murders. Help me please.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Funny how much conflicting information there is on this question. This appears to be one of those times that bad researchers are falsifying things in their trees to make them fit fairy tales and family fables. I found 7 different sets of parents attributed to this one man.

If you really want the definitive answer, call the librarian in Olathe Kansas. Their records on the Hickock family should be huge.

Otherwise, I can only add this article about the family. It lists the parents as Walter Sr. and Eunice Hickock.

This article with a report of Richard's final day lists his mother as "Mrs. Eugene Hickock".

Soooooo....we're back to not being able to trust anything without getting someone to verify what's official. Somewhere there's a librarian in Kansas who can answer this question in under 10 mins.

BTW, we back through the "In Cold Blood" stuff and found a reference to the parents in the 1996 version. They're listed among the cast of characters as Walter and Eunice:
