Doe's anybody know where i can find a last name dictionary for a real person?

i'm refering to someones last name i just can't speel it right i can say it .but just can' t spell it is there's a free web site that anybody know's of with such resoures. anything would help..

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Spelling of names can be tricky. Especially if you misspell spell (speel, as above). I don't know of a website for last names, though I'm sure if you do a search for one you can come up with at least one such site. I use as a resource a book of 20,000 first and last names, "The Writer's Digest Character Naming Sourcebook." Although mine was published in 1994, I would say that Writer's Digest Books has an updated version still in print. If you're interested, write them at F&W Publications Inc., 1507 Dana Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45207, to inquire. It's an excellent source of names.
