Question:

Should I keep something I found and is not mine if I can't find the person it belongs to?

I found a cell phone in the street, that had no personal settings , it still worked and had service , but I had no way to find or contact the person it origanaly belonged to. Should I keep it? What should I do?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Can you check to see if there were any dialed or received calls? Maybe calling one of them will lead you to the owner.

Also, my local newspaper runs "found" ads for free. Something like that might help. Or if you found it near a store or business, I might give it to them in case someone comes looking for it. Or even turn it in to the police so you wouldn't be accused of stealing it!
