I need a site where i could look up a last name. i need to find our where this name comes from.

You can look in many places. Two favorites are Family Search because it gives real data, real people, not some wishy-washy statement that you cannot prove. The other is Swyrich.com because I back up it's wishy-washy statements all the time, and it is usually right.

Next is GENFORUM because you find people that are either by the surname of the forum, or are interested in the surname of the forum. Great odds of finding a distant cousin to talk to.
