Genealogist conderrick each other? also advice here?

Another question with genealogy. When I was in high school I lived with a genealogist. She helped take care of me. Anyways, I really didn't pay much attention but she told my dad's side, the last name, she traced them to them Mayflower. That were relatives. I never asked any questions or got paperwork but it explained what my grandfather said to me. Anyways I moved after high school and she moved to another state. We lost contact.
Another one of my releatives either got paper work from the archives or had a genealogist do the tree.
Anyways the results say two different things. I'm having my relative send me the copies.
I think I already found the error but I'm waiting for the copies of the papers to be sent. My relatives paper list the wrong Charles and that is not my gg grandmothers name. Also the newpaper article which has been passed down the famliy conderdicks this too.
Also is this normal for genealogist to conerdick each other?

my gg father was an inventor like my grandfather and uncle (that is true). My ggg granfather is Captian Charles (true) . What happenend was by gg granfather worked at a jail,was an inventor and later was president to a company. He move to that company in his 50 as President. The wrong Charles that worked there is not his dad and that's not his mom's name but did have the a son with the same name. It's almost impossible for an immagrant to be an officer. Everytime I look up Captain Charles stuff it proves my point but doesn't list his wife.

Besides that would make the wrong Charles almost 40 when he had his first kid. That would make him almost 90 yrs old when my gg father became President. Which even the age doesn't add up. This is not the right Charles.

it, didn't show up in spell check. I know I'm a bad speller. The one who said the Mayflower is not the one who is wrong.
The right Charles is my ggg grandfather.
If this is the right Captain Charles the one I think, I'm related too (I'll know when I see his wife's name). Then I know his brothers,sisters, dad and mom. I can trace his dad's last name to the Mayflower. I'll probably order his civil war records. I'm getting a little ahead of myself but this is all resting on his wife's name.

I asked my famliy member how that was possible and the names didn't match. I didn't mean to insult anyone. I'm just looking for the facts.

I don't know where my famliy member got her info. My basic info was from my grandfather who is 75 yrs old (he is a real inventor, yes they don't make much money).My grandfathers brother,my great Uncle (78 yr ) who is on top of the food chain in the upper part of the gun business. I'm not related to fakes. You can't help who you're related too. I just want the facts.

her stuff connects to my stuff until ggg grandfather right name wrong guy. I looked it up at the civil war websites and it list the right guy. I'll just have to be the marriage certificate.
