Question:

Anyone know where I can find out about D.C.'s National Hotel?

It was the biggest hotel in nineteenth century Washington D.C. and home to some amazing events and people, but I can't seem to find a good source on the subject. Tried to search net for it, but every hotel in D.C. now claims to be National or Historic... Any suggestions?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The best bets I can think of for sources would be the Historical Society of Washington, D.C. (formerly the Columbia Historical Society) at (202) 785-2068 and the Washingtoniana Division of the Public Library of Washington, D.C. at (202) 727-1213 and ask how they could best help. If they suggest that you write to them, get their address and to whom the letter should be addressed, and, after you write to them and they send you the results of their search, write them a thank you note (with payment if there are any charges incurred).
