Chinese New Year was probably celebrated in similar ways as we do them now, except no TV.'s and perhaps no dragon dances. Family was probably the most important element. Families got together, they would eat dinner with a lot of good foods, such as noodles and dumplins, and families would get out and set on(or watch) some firecrackers with neighbors and friends, and then they go back and chat the entire night. Children usually get money on New Years Eve in a sealed red envelop called the New Years Envelop. That was pretty much how they used to celebrate the New Years.
