Question:

What is the nationality of the last name Tullah'?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Many names are COMMONLY associated with one country, but that is very unreliable, since one particular ancestor or branch could easily have been elsewhere. The only reliable way that I know of is to directly trace the individual (assuming it is your ancestor) and determine where he/she was born.
In looking quickly at the social security death index, I found only 4 entries for the name. Of course, remember that this index covers ONLY from about 1960, in the computer version. One that I found intriguing is Rahim Tullah, who died in Sutter co, CA in 1976. This definitely sounds more Indian to me. The other 3 were all connected to Texas, and 2 of these are women (meaning they likely had a different birth name).
One last stop was google, and I ran Tullah family India. Seems like it did pull up some with that as a surname, but I also see mention of it used as a place name. To further muddy the issue, there is another mention of it related to Tasmania.
So.. to repeat something I have said before... NAMES do not have nationalities, people do. You have to trace the person. You can drop me an email via my profile, if you want to give further details on the exact person that you are looking for.
