Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I don't know anyone named Snail personally, but I looked on Ancestry and it appears that there have been many people with the last name Snail. In fact, if you go to the following website

and type in Snail, you will see 6 people in the Social security Death index with that surname. In all of the U.S. censuses there were at least 30 families with that surname.
