Absolutely!
You need to have a good cardio base to be able to sustain long dances, and if you are taking ballet and every want to be a good partner who can lift a ballerina you have to start with weights!.
To avoid bulking up too much, keep your weight work to weights that you can do a couple sets of 10 -14 lifts, no heavier!.
Do pushups with your hands turned out to simulate lifting a ballet partner!. If you can elevate your feet so you're pushing more UP than OUT even better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Absolutely! I am a dancer of 20+ years and aside from teaching/dancing, I visit the gym about 3 days per week!. I do basic cardio and light weight-lifting!. I find it to be very helpful in strength-training and keeping up with my technical training!. Aside from that, visiting the gym is good for you regardless of whether you're a dancer or not! Be healthy and good luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Probably because dancers have to have pretty strong muscles and cardiovascular systems!. I'm not a dancer, but I know a lot of dancers who play sports and work out!. Dancing is intense stuff!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
you pluralize too much!. And recently a combined law with most gyms across the nation restricted dancers to work in gyms!. This was due to the excessive funk going down!. So if you want to, its your risk!. Be a Rosa Parks!Www@QuestionHome@Com
