Question: Can i teach myself ballet!?

Well it really isn't a good idea!. Ballet is very tough on your body, even if it does look simple enough!. You could seriously hurt of injure yourself by just doing one little thing wrong!. I'm fairly sure that you don't want to damage your body so that you are limping around the rest of your life!

If I were you I would take a ballet class!. If you really want to learn ballet so badly, do it in a safe and fun enviroment!. If you find that you hate learning in a class room enviroment then you can go back and practice at your house!. It is still very dangerous, but you can always go over some of the basic stuff that you had learned!. Remember that you should always stretch before going to class, or before practicing at home!.

Good luck!. :]Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ballet teachers pound technique into their students heads for a reason: if you don't do it properly, you WILL HURT YOURSELF!. bottom line!. ESPECIALLY pointe - verrryy bad idea!. broken ankles happen to girls who have teachers, so imagine if you had no idea what you are doing! ( knowing the positions and being able to plie does not constitute knowledge of ballet!.)

also, if you are not using your muscles properly, you could bulk your legs up in a wierd way!.FYI!.

If you want a dancer body, you can use the NYC Ballet workout available in a book or DVD format!.
If you want to be a dancer - I'm sorry, just bite the bullet and pay for classes!. It's for your own good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can do anything if you set your mind to it!
You probally need to go to a gym or get a bar to strech on!. you can use books and the internet to learn some of the basic things!. you wont be able to go professional on ur own, but you can still learn! hope i helped, :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

NOOOOOOOOOO! If you would EVER consider dancing ballet, then take lessons! If you don't, you could end up seriously ingurred! So, please, take lessons, in hand of a ballerina who has had plenty of en pointe lessons, and enjoy! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

no, that would be way too hard!. i suggest going and checking out your local dance studios!. maybe enroll in a class that meets once a week!. that's what i first did!. soon you'll realize that it is much harder than it looks!. plus, you'll be in great shape, too!. i really hope i helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, Ballet is really hard!. You could probably lear the simple things like 1st- 5th position and pliƩ and things but not the good hard things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Of course you can!! If you take online lessons that is, but that would just be for fun, if you ever want to go en pointe I suggest you get an instructor or dance school!. Hope I helped!! =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

NO!. even professional dancers have teachers and directors!.

You would have no way of knowing what you are doing is correct!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

nopeWww@QuestionHome@Com

Of course! As long as you have the proper instructions and equipment!.
You will need ballet shoes (not pointe unless your ankles are completely ready)
And a ballet bar!.
You will have to stretch daily!.!.!. one foot exercise is writing the alphabet in the air with your foot and then in cursive for each foot!. Hope that helps! :DWww@QuestionHome@Com
