Question: How do you strengthen your arches for pointe!?
I know how to do the 3/4 point and full point for training to be en pointe!.!.!.!.!. What other exercises can I do to build my arches!? I've been in pointe shoes and my right arch is terrific but my let needs work!.!.!.!.!. I need some tips!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

tendus done properly and done at varying speeds will make your feet so much stronger!. Never underestimate the basics! When you do your tendus, make sure that you pointe your foot (your foot, not just your toes, although i'm sure you probably already know) as far as it can go, so that your muscles get used to working in their full range!. I've had many teachers also tell me to think about massaging the floor, and it's a good visual that helps me to continuously articulate my feet!.

And in your leisure time two foot exercises to do:
1!. spell out the alphabet in the air with your toes (you can go through the alphabet once on the left, once on the right, and then depending on how you feel do it once more),
2!. flex, point, flex, point, hold (about 5 repetitions and two sets, and you can add sets as you get stronger)!.
The important thing with these two very simple exercises is that you articulate your foot while you do them!. When I say articulate your foot, I mean like roll through every possible segment and be meticulous and detailed in how you get from one point to the next!. You might be like, but i'm just pointing and flexing!.!.!.but try it :-p

Get a Theraband (its like a thin wide piece of elastic), (and advice!) from a physio!. You sit down with your legs straight in front put it on the ball of your foot, hold the two ends tight with your hands, covering your toes and pretend to tendu right through to pointe!.

I got told (years ago) a trick that i never really bothered to use but you can try!. You get one of those old glass milk bottles, sit on a chair and place it on the ground under your arch!. Then you roll it heel touching the floor to toe!.

Anything you do is going to be repetitive and boring and won't work unless you do it heaps!.

tendues with your heal forward leading all the way out!. when you have pointe shoes on tendu front and push very hard over on to your big toe this will really shape ur foot!. RELEVEs on one foot two feet in alecone coupe and everywear!. WOrk really hard at the bar and start to really think about shaping your feet!!

Ok so heres one excercise i did!. Sit on the floor with your legs out straight!. First flex your feet then roll through demi-pointe to full pointe!. Then roll back!. Now try isolating each movement!.!.!. flex, hold, demi-pointe, hold, full pointe, hold!.!.then back!.
