i've been a dancer since i was 2 giving me 11 years of stage experience, the dancers are always responsible for paying for the costumes, the dance school will take care of buying the costumes, but you have to pay for them, depending on what school you attend, some schools will rent them and some schools will have you keep them and some schools will do both depending on the costume and the purpose for it!. such as if it were a competition costume you will have to buy it but if it was just for the recital the school might have you rent it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

most studios you have to pay yourself!. this year; i have $1050 worth of costumes to pay up!.

so yeah!. that's for 10 performances!. (jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, modern, hiphop, pointe, finale, opening, and competition!.)

but i get a discount because i teach there!. so yeah; do you really believe a studio would pay for that for each person!? i doubt it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on the studio!. Where I go, we pay for things like shoes because we can use them in lessons or dresses for competitions but other things such as costumes chosen specifically for one dance are payed for by the studio!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
