Question: I have been taking ballet for a year and noticed the other day!?
that I was able to go on pointe during practice!. I thought you were supposed to wait several years, and I only dance 3 days a week!. I guess I shouldn't keep doing it, but it freaks me out cause I did it at home too!.

Should I just not do it anymore!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, you seriously shouldn't do that!. Very bad for the joints in your feet/toes!.

You are indeed within the basic guidelines for starting pointe: a year (although more commonly two or three) of experience and three-plus hours of class a week!. If you're younger than, say, 14, just wait and work on your technique and your teacher will notice when you're ready to start learning pointe!. If you're older, they may not assume you'll want to do it and you may want to ask about it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should ask your teacher about possibly taking pointe!. He or She will know what to do!. also, you actually do fit the requirements for going en pointe (at least a year of 3 or more classes a week)!. How old are you!? (this is actually essential to answering the question) If you are under 11, it's probably not a good idea!. Your teacher will know better than me, though, so talk to him/herWww@QuestionHome@Com

As long as you don' hurt yourself then fine!. I've been taking dance for 6 weeks and I can go on pointe without even the Ballet shoes because my feet are just built that way!.
If you want to learn pointe ask and see what you need to do to get there it takes alot more than being able to go up on your toes!.
More like being able to do it for an hour!.

It's very bad for your feet if you releve on full pointe without the support of pointe shoes!. If you want to start pointe then I would ask your teacher!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
