Im 15 year old dancer im pretty good been doing it since i was 3, everyone in my dance class can do the splits but i can't is there anyway i could be able to, any stretches which could help !?!?!?!?

plz help xxxWww@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: my advice to you would be the same advice my older sister gave to her girls in her dance classes!. they all now have there splits or are almost there: if you hold your split 1 minute everyday for a week, your split will be 1 inch closer to the ground at the end of the week!. 2 min/day=2 min/wk (also if you hold it for 2 minutes in the morning and 2 minutes at night, that would count for 4 min total and equal 4 inches in a week) good luck and dont forget to stretch first so you dont pull a muscle!. ps: dont "seesaw" in a split, as the german girl said!. bouncing in a split is bad for you and will definitely hurt you and cause you to pull muscles!.Www@QuestionHome@Com hey, my mum is a ballet dancer, so i can tell you: the most important thing is: don't force it or you can cause serious damage!. some people just have too short sinews!. I myself was never able to do a proper split!. some good warm ups to try to stretch your sinews: - do carefully a split!. the best is when you got something like little benches on either side of you to make sure you don't drop!. then seesaw (is that the right word!? sorry, i am german) up and down a bit!. relax and repeat it with the other legs in front!. put your feet together in butterfly position and seesaw (still a funny word!) up and down with your knees!. - put one leg on a bar and slight in a horizontal split as far as possible without too much pain!. repeat with the other legs!. thats what we did in ballet classes!. make sure you warmed up before!.
