Question: If I stretch every day for 20 minutes, how long will it take until I can do the splits!?
Should I increase it to 30 minutes!? I'm not too flexible!.!.!.which is what I'm trying to fix!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Generally it is not better to stretch for longer, but to stretch a short while, more than once a day, with enough time to rest in between!. Say for example morning and evening!.

Do not overstretch, as this tires your muscles and you can pull a muscle that way!. There is a line between pushing just past your current position, and pushing too hard!.

As for how long it will take, that depends on several factors!.
Your body for one, each of our bodies are different!. Some people are naturally more flexible!. Your stress level, or rather your ability to deal with stress, will affect how far your body can go!.
Your frame of mind affects your stretching, too!. It requires the right mental focus to get the best results!.

It's not really about how long you're doing it,what matters most is that you're stretching everyday!.
But if you can do longer than 20 minutes,then go ahead!.
It may also help your flexibility but don't force yourself if you can't do it or it's really hurting!.

When I started increasing my flexibility, I stretched every day for 30 minutes and was able to do splits within a month!. Since then (as I had knee surgery), I've just started stretching and was able to get all the way flat in my splits within a week of hardcore stretching!. Just make sure you aren't pushing yourself too hard, you don't want to pull anything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually, you should stretch five minutes 4 times a day!. I started stretching at more intervals during the day and for the first time in 3 years my straddle splits actually improved for once!.

sitting in splits for 20 minutes will make you super sore and stiff the next dayWww@QuestionHome@Com

if your young ( under 30) it should take you like a few months or less if your doing that much if your older it will take a bit longerWww@QuestionHome@Com
