Well, it's natural to get nervous in front of your teacher, you want to do well and want to look good!. But, that can be a good thing- it can inspire you to work harder!. However the main thing is to FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS!. Don't think about anything else when she says the combination!. Think about the steps as she says them and envision yourself doing them!. A thing that helps me is to mark it while the teacher is showing you, or telling you!. This way it sort of kind of goes into muscle memory, and having done the routine once before will help you remember it later!. Ask a question or two if you're not sure about something!. Just don't ask more than two, and listen to any questions that others are asking!. It's good that she looks at you, and if you're marking it, she'll be able to possibly comment or show you the steps!. Watch everyone else as well, and try to copy them if you really can't get it!. Think ahead too!. Prepare yourself for the next part of the sequence so it flows!. Really concentrate, and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE whenever you get the chance!. Make space in your room or living room, on the way to school, in the hallways, walking to dinner, anywhere! Go over the steps again and again, and think about how to do them!. Take your time and learn as much as you can!. Concentrate on learning the dance, not performing for the teacher!. When you get home, go over it!. The more you go over the dances she teaches, the more you can get better at her style!. Most teachers have a style the more you do and learn and practice, the more it will become predictable!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't worry I've been in the same situation!. I've been dancing for about 15 years and what I learned is first things first is to relax because just being nervous about not being able to catch on quickly will hinder you from being completely focused!. But try to catch on to the steps and movements she puts emphasis on and your body will naturally flow!. And the nervousness is natural because you want to impress your teacher, but the thing you have to remember is "don't try to dance better than anyone else, but try to dance better than yourself" (Mikhail Baryshni)!.

And if not anything else!.!.!.!.most importantly PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!. Find the music you're dancing to!.!.!.!.make room!.!.!.!.!.!.!.and practice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Haha, the same thing happened to me today!. What I have to say is NEVER STOP MOVING!. While watching the teacher, always try to keep doing the moves they're doing and if you can't do them full out, then that's fine but always be doing them with her!. Don't stand and watch, just do it!. The other is when you perform, do it FULL OUT and BIG!. because if you just do it half assed then you will look bad!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

practice learning really hard choreography by watching ballet or jazz dances on youtube!. Then in class, combinations will be a breeze! Or, you can memorize the names of the steps!.!.Really, it just takes practice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
