Position:Home>Dancing> I need help with Dance shoes?Question: I need help with Dance shoes!? hi my dance class started on Thursday and I realized that my feet grew and that i need new shoes!.The kind of dancing i do is hip -hop jazz and tap i have tap shoes i just need jazz and hip-hop shoes ( I use the same shoes for both kinds of dances)!.Oh i and want to know if you think dance is a sport or just a hobbie!.

My jazz shoes had only leather soles; were I you, I would look for something like a tennis-shoe sole that has a split sole (a separate forefoot and heel part, with a flexible piece in between the two that allows for a good pointed toe)!. These are usually called dance sneakers!. There are shoes with good shock absorption capabilities; they are a great option for doing hip-hop, as well as jazz!. Although the best dance surfaces are wood and other shock-absorbing materials, the more shock that you can have absorbed by the shoes--the better for a longer dance career and fewer injuries that will hurt when you are older!. For your second question: dancers are definitely athletic but I would not truly call dance a sport!. It is really SO much more!Www@QuestionHome@Com Dance is absolutlely a sport!. I am a competitive dancer and I take Studio School, so I am at my studio all day 6 days a week!. And for shoes you take your street shoe size and start from there +2 sizes for hip hop +1!.5 sizes for tap +1 size for jazz (brand sizes may vary)Www@QuestionHome@Com Try to go to a place that fits the shoes, you'll get a better fit that way!. Dancing is a sport, I have more injures from ballet then other sports, and I have to try really really hard!.
