What helps me with my pirouettes is spotting (of course), engaging my core muscles, and the placement of my retire!. When you spot you able to turn around quickly without getting dizzy!. When you engage your core muscles you more balanced and steady!. Sometimes it helps when you actually think in your mind to engage your core muscles right before the pirouette!. What many people don't know is about the importance of their retire!. The higher and quicker you get your leg and pointed foot to retire, the quicker you will be able to turn and do more turns beautifully!. I wish you the best of luck for nationals! Stay focused and practice, practice, practice!! Good things come in time!Www@QuestionHome@Com

when you do a pirouette, don't put your foot down at the end!.
try and stay up and balance if you can!.

if you fall over, judge how you're falling over (ie - you fall left, coz your right hip is up, or you fall forward coz you lean forward whilst turning etc)

try and balance and stay upright!.

then go back to basics - bring your arms in a tighter first!.
spot your head super quick - practice without turning maybe
make sure before you turn you have a deep, even bend/plie, then you relevae high on your foot
hold your stomach in
make sure you turn with correct posture
limit the power of your turns in doubles and triples and use that power for your 4 turns
practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice!.!.!.!.and PRACTICE!!!

good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

wow! i can barely do a double!!!!!!!!!
but no matter how many you do, there is a secret to success for every turn!.
1) get a good preperation
2)make sure you spot
3)lift!!!
4)use your turn out to help you around!.
5)stay on releve the whole time!.
6) don't hop around!. come down when you need to
7)take chances!. just go for it
8)plie!!!!!!
9)when you come down and maybe you only do a triple, smile! don't let the audience know you messed up
10) practice!!!!!!!

good luck in the nationals!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i agree with the other people who answered but also i would add that a lot of people underestimate how much your arm and leg positioning can effect your pirouettes!. make sure your arms are at the right angle and rounded and also, work on your turnout so that your leg can be turnout out better!. this will give you much more control!. (this is assuming that you are doing a ballet pirouette) Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love pirouettes!
they're great fun but are hard work!.
practice getting your foot to your knee as quickly as possible!. This is called 'snatching' and is essential for a good turn!.
practise balances and spotting, and also remember to use your arms to balance yourself!.
hope this helps and remember to PRACTISE PRACTISE PRACTISE!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Remember to spot! also you have to have a strong core and you have to pull up from your back and your core!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try getting REALLY slippery shoes or socks! I can only do doubles and when I do I fall over!. I have a solid ONE AND A HALF! WOOT! (Just make sure your shoes arent tooo slippery cuz you dont wanna fall!.!.!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pirouettes are all about your stomach and core!. Do sit ups every day and when you turn tighten your ab muscles and pull up!. Good luck at nationals!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do everything the others said, and keep practicing!. Every day, if you must!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Always pull in your ribs/core and remember to spot!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
