It all depends on how much dancing in the pointe shoes you will do!. My daughter dances about 6 hrs a week to 10 hrs a week (rehearsals for performances) and she needs a new pair about every 5-8 months!. You probably won't be en pointe right away, you have to work up to it, your teacher will let you know!.* Now this is different than your Ballet Slippers you will be wearing right away and will wear a lot more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi, i've been dancing for 12 years now!.!.!.!.!.ever since i was two, and have been doing ballet for 8 years now!. I have been learn pointe for over five years!.
Your normal ballet shoes will last depending on how often you do ballet and how many classes at a time!. I do 5 ballet classes a week and my shoes lasted me for about 2 and a 1/2 years!. My pointe shoes last me for about the same time but you must avoid dodgy pointe shoes as they can sometimes break!. Bloch is always a good store for dance shoes and dance wear!. You may have to pay a little bit extra but your shoes and clothes are always guaranteed to be more than satisfying!.

If you are constantly improving and extremely good postured plus all your ballet lines and technique is good then you should go onto pointe in 2-3 years after beginning ballet but if not then it can take up to 4-5 years!. It also depends on how strong your feet are and it can take a while to make your feet strong enough to go onto pointe!. But just keep practicing putting some of your weight on your foot while it is flexed on the ground and lean against something if you have to and your feet will gradually become stronger!.

hope all this helps:)
good luck

You must be strong to take pointe so that you don't hurt yourself!. It depends on different teachers and how strong you are in the beginning!. I'd say three to four years!.

The life span of pointe shoes depends on your feet and how much you wear them!. In the summer they don't last as long because the sweat and humidity break down the cardboard and glue much faster!. If you have high arches you usually break your shoes faster, since they have to bend more!. I have high arches and wear pointe shoes about four hours a week, so i usually go through mine about every two months!.

Soft slippers last a pretty long time!. I use about two pairs a year, give or take!. they do get pretty dirty and yucky though!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Generally, you'll need to take ballet long enough to develop strong legs and ankles and to develop a solid technique!. Deoending on your age and other activities youve done, it may not take you as long to start pointe as another dancer may take!.
Regular ballet shoes also vary in how long they last!. Canvas lasts much less time than a leather shoe, and of course they run out quicker the more you use them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ballet shoes last a pretty long time that is if you don't wear them out that much!. I think they last for about a year or so and then you have to get a new pair!. And for the pointe I took ballet and it took me two years to get into pointe because you have to build up to it and plus your teacher should let you know when exactly your ready for pointe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First off, have fun starting ballet! I know that I love it!. For the shoes, they usually last a long time!. You can tell when you need new ones by seeing if they're very dirty, hurt your feet, or start to feel too stretched!. And for pointe, you'll have to work very hard!. I just started this year as well, and my teacher says that I can go en pointe in a year or so!. Hope I helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

well pointe shoes vary on the length of time before they "die" depending and the hardness of the materials in the shoe, and how much you use them!. Mine usually last around a year but that is a very long time for pointe shoes!. Professionals' shoe may only last a day or one class, while beginning students will most likely last longer!. Here's a good video about pointe shoes!.

As to when you will go on pointe that is a tougher question, it depends a lot on you, your body and your teacher!. I can tell you that I went on pointe at 11, but many people say that is too young!.
here's a good video for that Q!.

I suggest watching videos and reading about pointe shoes it's very interestingWww@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure about shoes but I know you only learn to go en pointe in about 2-3 years or so when your teacher believes you are ready for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
