Question: Pointe Question!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
I only started pointe a month or two ago and in our pointe dance there is one part where I have trouble keeping my supporting leg straight as I'm a bit wobbly!. We do a pas de bouree but with each step the non supporting leg comes up into retire!. Straight out of the pas de bouree we stand on the supporting leg for a few seconds with our leg in retiree!. The last part is where I get a bit wobbly!. I try really hard to pull up through my core and keep my legs strong but do you have any other tips!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

What you describe is actually a very pretty type of pas de bourre, called a pas de bourre pique, or a "picked up" pas de bourre!. And it sounds like you are doing them slow, in order to gain balance!.

You need to make sure you are holding your core muscles strong, that they are engage!. Pull up those tummy muscles tight, and pull the bottom under!. Ensure you are not leaning back!. also make sure you hold your arms strong!.

A good thing that helps me is keep ing a spot!. Pick an unmoving target on the wall, and watch it through the excersise!. When it comes to the balance, stare at the spot!. Engage the tummy muscles, Keep that leg straight, and make sure you are right up high ont he demi point!.

Hope I helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

make sure that when you keep your leg 'strong' that you keep the knees pulled up, work your calf muscles (make sure that they are kept pulled up at all times)

also make sure that you arent leaning back and that you have good support (upperbody) and that youre not sitting in your hips!.!.

hope this helped, good luck
