Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Nope not at all! I'm guessing your around 14 years old!? If you are doing ballet for fun, not to become a professional ballet dancer, then its fine! And guess what! Even if you do want to become a professional - dancers at the Australian Ballet School start pointe at the age of 13! It's not bad at all!. Everyone is very different!. I am glad you have a responsible teacher, who waited until YOU were ready before putting you on pointe!. Kudos to her!Www@QuestionHome@Com If your lifelong ambition is to be a professional ballerina, then it might be a bit too late!. If you are just dancing for fun, than it's a perfect time to start, as long as your feet have stopped growing and you have strong ankles!. I started in 8th grade, and it's turned out perfectly fine for me!Www@QuestionHome@Com Some of the most famous ballet dancers of all time didn't even start ballet until they were 14/15!. I would say it's definately not too late!. Just try your hardest and don't do anything your teacher doesn't tell you to do as you may develop the wrong techniques!. It sometimes depends on when you started ballet!. also, your teacher is probably protecting your ankles!. They might not have been strong enough when you were younger!.
