First of all you have nothing to be worried about! I can remember the first dance I went to and it was in 6th grade too!. First of all you just need to have fun! Dont worry about if you look silly and if you are dancing wrong because then your are not going to have fun!. But when it comes to the dancing, just try and watch what the other girls are doing on the dance floor at first and try to imitate what they are doing but make it your own by adding a little bit you you into the moves!. When it comes to slow dancing!.!.!. if and when a guy ask you dont fel nervous to say yes!. because he is just as nervous as you are!. but put you arms around his neck and just sway from side to side!. he will put his arms around you as well!.

hahaha my first sixth grade dance!.!.!. :D
i remember it!.
i found all my friends after school and we waited in line together to go inside the gym!.
once we got inside, we waited a while because there weren't very many people there yet!.
when it started filling up, we found some more friends and talked for a while!.
then we saw a bunch of other people dancing!.
haha we had absolutely NO clue how to dance, so we just messed around!.
we started doing a bunch of old silly dance moves like the running man and attempted (emphasis on attempt) to do the moon walk lol!.

it was so much fun though!.
no one really cared how we danced because we were just messing around!.

the only thing i can tell you is to have fun! :D
then the next day, go and brag to all your friends who didn't come lol!.

Don't worry!. I just had my first dance yesterday and I'm in 7th grade!. I was nervous too but trust me once you get their and hang out with your friends it sooo much fun!. It was the best night ever! My tip would be just to have fun!. 2!. Don't text during the dance! Tons of ppl were texting at my dance!. Its hard to explain it!. Trust me though its awesome!. Have fun! I wish i had another like tommorrow!.
